Dual Citizenship

Natural-born citizens of the Philippines who have lost their Philippine citizenship by reason of their naturalization as citizens of a foreign country may re-acquire Philippine citizenship upon taking their oath of allegiance to the Republic (Republic Act No. 9225 or the Citizenship Retention and Re-acquisition Act of 2003).

REQUIREMENTS
1. Two (2) photographs, passport-size
2. Current foreign passport (original and 3 photocopies)
3. Application fee: €50.00
4. Certificate of Naturalization or Decreta o Certificato Di Cittadinanza Italiana rilasciato dal Comune (original and 3 photocopies)
5. Original and 3 photocopies of any of the following:

  • Philippine birth certificate
  • Latest Philippine passport
  • Marriage Contract indicating Philippine citizenship of the applicant
  • Voter's affidavit or voter's identification card or other documents that would show that the applicant is a natural-born citizen of the Philippines as may be acceptable to the evaluating officer


If the applicant wishes to apply his/her children for dual citizenship (only for children below 18 years of age and who were born after applicant's acquisition of foreign citizenship), the applicant must submit the original and three photocopies of the following:

  • Birth certificate (Certificato di Nascita)
  • Current foreign passport of child
