The Consul General

About Us



Consul General Lourdes Soliman Tabamo is the sixth consul general to head the Philippine Consulate General in Milan. She joined the Department of Foreign Affairs in 1971 and was first assigned at the Office of Personnel and Administrative Affairs. Her first foreign assignment was at the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong, after which she was assigned to several offices in the DFA including the Office of European Affairs, Office of Consular Affairs, Office of Protocol and State Visits, Malacaņang Protocol Office, Office of the Undersecretary for Administration, and Office of United Nations and Other International Organizations. In 1997, she was posted as Third Secretary and Vice-Consul at the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo, Japan, and was later promoted as Second Secretary and Consul until 2003.

Upon her return to Manila, she was designated as Director of the Office of ASEAN Affairs and later as Acting Executive Director of the Office of Consular Affairs. In 2008, she was assigned to the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu, USA as Consul and in 2010, she was reassigned as Consul General to the Philippine Embassy in the Vatican, prior to her current designation in Milan.

Consul General Tabamo obtained her bachelor's degree in foreign service from the College of Holy Spirit. She is the holder of a master's degree in International Relations from Tufts University - Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in Boston. She also finished a human management training course at the Australian National University. She and her husband both hail from the province of Tarlac and are blessed with two sons.
